Fort Langley, Welcome To My Happy Place!

Here are just a few reasons why I love Fort Langley

Although the forecast gives snow for this week, in my mind it’s already almost spring and that means summer is just around the corner! Just believe it and it will happen I tell myself 😉

I do love the winter season and really really enjoy the holidays, but I’m a summer person at heart: I live for sunshine, cold coffees, burnt noses and my feet in the sand.

I’m incredibly lucky to have a husband and two amazing dogs that think just like me. When we’re not working in the summer you’ll find us at the lake catching rays, swimming, and picnicking.

Since my schedule as a Realtor is unpredictable most of the time I have to stay local to take care of clients calls. I need a happy place close to home where I can escape to quickly after, or even during, work hours; this happy place is called Fort Langley.

Most of my days off in both the warmer months, and the colder months, are spent in Fort Langley. My activities change slightly according to the weather but on any given day of the week my day will start with a perfect cup of coffee.

If my husband and I are feeling especially hungry we always head to Wendels Book store and cafe  for breakfast. Their eggs Benedict and homemade jam give us the right amount of energy before we continue on with our day.

If we are in the mood for something lighter, Blacksmith bakery is the perfect spot to pick up a delicious coffee ( my favourite in town ) and french pastries before we continue on with our walk.

After breakfast we enjoy getting some exercise by going for a long walk with our dogs. We normally split our time between the Houston Trail and Brae Island trail  depending on the mood.  Our walk usually ends with us playing with the dogs in the river before heading home.

Fort Langley in the summer has a large number of beautiful little patios to stop for lunch or dinner. Since it’s still really cold out and patios are but a distant dream one of my favourite spots for date nights in the winter time is this incredible little tapas bar called Eighteen27.

They will charm you with their incredible drink selection and very talented piano player, not to mention the truffle mushroom gnocchi are a must try!
